Christ came along to bring a song

Of peace and joy to earth,

To rectify and rid our wrong:

Most meaningful his birth.

He spoke of love among mankind

But many heard not these words,

Some altered them within their mind

And reckoned the thought absurd.

He sought through both his word and act

To UNIFY               …the crowd;

Some twisted words, distorted  fact

And severing allowed.

The only church existent,

Apart from Catholic,

Was the Synagogue in covenant

Before the Nicean creed.

Where a Bishop’s gathering decides

What books were allowed to stay!

Men, not God, then chose the guides;

Some books were swept away.

Since then the slicing grew and grew

And many new dreams arose,

And many there were who knew they knew

More than anyone would suppose.

                    (1) Love the Lord your God with all your heart

(2) Love your neighbor as yourself.

             On these TWO commandments hang ALL the law AND the prophets. (N.T.)

   Note: The Council of Nicea [AD 325] was a convention of some 318 Bishops and slightly

   over 1,100 priests and Deacons of the Holy Catholic Church in the Mediterranean area.

   The Protestant reformation began about 1,200 years after the Council of Nicea.
