So Many Hats To Wear

Are you tired, my sister?

Cause I am!

Been on this long journey called life.

Been through so much strife.

First I was a daughter

Then a sister

All in minutes of my life.

A niece and a cousin all in one

An aunt, a student, a friend

All by the age of sixteen.

Who would have thought this could be?

Oh I forgot granddaughter

But the best one yet

Is a mother and a wife

How great it is to create a new life?

Became an addition to a family

Putting on my hat of daughter-in-law,

Sister-in-law and friend again

All by the age of twenty-two.

Many more years will past

Before I assume the last set of hats

When the time comes

I will dust then off, perch them on my head

And wear them proud

Mother-in-law and grandmother

One day too, will be apart of my set of hats.
