Moth-smitten

"On framed butterflies"

                                                                               You butterflied

                  Your way into my life

                  With smooth velvet wings

                  Fluttering,

                  Restless as a firefly

                  Sputtering neon off and on.

                  Flitting from buttercup

                  To rose was your prison,

                  Netting you was mine.

                  A faulty flouncy landing

                  Terminated your bars.

                  Shelved,

                  I covered you with glass

To brighten a hall in my life.

                  Now your stillness

                  Imprisons my guilt.

                  - Kitty
