Sea-scape

© Ethelene W. (Kitty) Brown

Boldly rising fiery fervor

Ripens orange, mellows blue,

Climbing upward into morning

Crying clocks are lured anew.

With fear of finding early strollers,

Sand crabs scamper out of view

And among the heel and toe prints seek their freedom from the shoe…

Sea oats tend to bend and swagger,

Wave to wanderers on their way

As crescendos of the wind’s gust

Sails a skipper on the bay.

Sea gulls gather for their banquet,

Neptune’s dish of easy prey,

While the rippling water dances

Jubilant at break of day…
