EVE'S REGRET
(in recognition of women)

UTOPIA is virtually incomprehensible.
The consent of curious Eve to the seduction of Satan
drove her from the Garden in shame;
Yet, in that shameful exit we find the history of humanity...
Knowledge versus virtue,
Good versus evil,
Hardship versus hope.
One might pose the question,
Is ignorance truly bliss?
Can earnest contentment be realized in one's safely established
cocoon of comfort?
Or rather, like the butterfly, might one find deeper joy
And greater meaning in the exploration of freedom?
Perhaps to "mother of all living" a debt of gratitude is owed...
An appreciation for the right to be wrong,
For freedom of choice,*
For freedom in Christ,
And for maturity of thought.
The reward for perseverance remains attainable,
And victory much more gratifying upon triumphant completion of the race.

*NOTE: author, James Allen, wrote "A man's mind may be likened to a garden,
which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild."
The curiosity of the human spirit that was exercised in the Garden of Eden
banished us all from lives of perfection. However, God has politely empowered
us with a wonderful freedom of choice. We can choose to serve Him by cultivating
our gardens, or we can choose instead to let them run wild. No doubt, there is
unparalleled beauty and significance in a relationship that is grown by choice!
