Ladybug Sunday Morning

Bright light through kitchen window shines
Through my darkened mini-blinds
Peeping in to start the day
But, I refuse and say, "Go 'way!"
Later, at the kitchen sink
I'm still asleep
Can hardly think
Wash the dishes
All by hand
JOYful bubbles
Foamy strands
Tho'
Inviting me from reverie
Between the sun beams bright
Sat the sisters ladybug
Savoring morning's light
There, on speckled window panes
Along with who-knows-what's remains
Sat a pair who dressed the same
Oblivious to my plight
Peering out to greet the day
Beneath their polka dot array
Their reverence surely seemed to say
"Thank You, Lord for this day."
"Thank You for another day."
